But let's start with the fox.
I love the fox.
My favourite part is where the fox is pawing at the big chew. So sweet. The ears!
Not that I dislike the rats. I like them. I especially like to see them face-to-face. I like their white bellies and little pink paws. I like their big eyes and flickery ears. I even like their tails.
But I was happy with two rats. There are four in this video - after the fox. There were many, many, many films of the rats. Most of the films were of the rats. The rats rushing in and out. Rushing past. Only one, usually, with the others, as here, just pairs of eyes, watching. There is also a little mouse.
The fox, in some films, seemed to be alert to where the rats hide - and the cover photo shows signs of earth removal at the back of the green box. I think that is the work of the rats. I think the fox knew. I think the fox would rather have eaten a rat than dog biscuits.
I am feeding the rats.
My neighbours will hate me.
Today, the neighbour behind the box was doing something... shoring up something... preventing rat transit routes. Maybe poisoning the rats. I hope not. In part for the rats and in part for the fox in case she (Leanne thinks this is a she) eats a corpse or a sick rat.
I can't think about it.
Instead, check out the final part of the film. A blue tit bathing until a blackbird shunts them out of the water.
Funnily enough, today I was filming the blackbird pair and the female kept of bossing the male around. I hadn't expected that!
Anyway. The rat (and fox and tit) film.
Oh dear. Many Rattus.
