... but the body remained warm for some time.
I remember seeing the original version of this on Tati Dennehy's site. I can't see it now - not on her website or her Instagram. The original had one cat but the same words. It struck my heart so powerfully. I was at work for a shift I hated and had started to cry before the job started. I decided I would order one of these for my 50th with two cats.
So, I emailed Tati - I'd bought four items from her before. I sent photos of my cats and she got to work. When she had finished it, I loved it. My brother and sister in law had contributed to the cost for my birthday and Christmas present and I was thrilled.... except that I wished it also had the dog on it. So, I emailed Tati again with pictures of the dog. My friend Abby paid for the dog as her gift to me.
It was all done... but it was COVID time and then the EURO and there was work and the animals and volunteering and the Masters... so I didn't collect it until the weekend after the dog was put to sleep.
When I unwrapped the sculpture, the first thing I did was pull out the dog - he is separate - and feel that I had something of my boy to stay with me.
Tati did me a wonderful service a year ago - but that service is now a blessing. She has given me back a piece of my heart.
