An eventful walk and a useful day

Writer's picture: CroneCrone

The useful day started with a song thrush singing lustily. I was at the reserve to volunteer. Tidying up where Scots pines had been felled. I was basically moving big pieces of tree from one place to another.

Mischa saw two hares. Many muntjac were about and we heard the ravens. I checked out the badgers and saw some new activity at the sett. Turns out they are only cutting down two of the oak trees, which is good.

We finished early and I came home to do not a great deal.

The next day, I trotted along a track I haven't been on for a while. I sent the Badger Trust videos of one sett that hadn't been surveyed since 2005 and another they didn't know about. I think that is my fourth sett discovery. Both look very active.

I did see a hare, racing away across a field, and met a nice tree.

Glad to hear about your two days -- activities and sightings. Good about the active badger signs. I enjoyed the video exploring the big tree!
