I wondered who was dropping flowers on me. The blue tits pluck them and eat the base, where the nectar pools. Just as I used to do with honeysuckle.
These cherry blossoms are so delicate - and I think each flower lasts merely a matter of days. The tree does not produce cherries. That is a shame. When I bought and planted the tree, I suppose I wasn't thinking about anything beyond pretty flowers. Still, the bees and tits like it.

Given the lack of robin time, I am especially happy to see the blackbirds.
And the dunnocks. This one is jumping down from the green box onto a terracotta football and seemed surprised to land on something curved not flat!
