This is Jabi asking where his food is. He gets breakfast when I get up and tea some time after 3pm (today he was whining for it from 2pm which is odd as he usually has a perfect idea of when 3pm is) and he gets his pre-bed snack some time after 9pm. This is preceded by cannabis oil, paracetamol and tooth-brushing. He likes the oil as it is delivered on a biscuit. He hates the rest.
Once he has had his breakfast, he waits for bits of my toast then goes and lies down until I am dressed and ready to take him for a walk. As soon as he has had his tea, he expects to walk.
Today, it rained morning and afternoon and was cold this afternoon. The crows were quiet. I said to the dog, 'Where are the crows? Find the crows!' He dutifully looked about before sniffing the ground and limping off. So, we wandered around a damp and deserted park, checking out the usual crow sites. I was heading for the playgound to see if the Playground Pair would appear when the dog, dithering behind me, barked once. I turned and saw one of the Flying Two flying after us. Coincidence?
On the way out, the Driveway Duo were a Trio - which confused me as I had never seen three there before. One of them always caws and stands somewhere obvious - on the roof or on a lamppost. By the time I get to the throwing place, there's always one there - he same one or the other? This one flies away when I throw but by the time I have walked along the driveway, two will be eating - or, today, three.
I sometimes hear the jays in the park and have a suspicion that when they see me in the park, they come to the garden.
Anyway, I am jaded due to the miserable weather and... I don't know... the vague blues... so I will go. The cats want attention.
A day in the life of dear Jabi. It's like being there with him x
