Low light

Writer's picture: CroneCrone

We've had a run of sunny days.

Next door's hawthorn has some flowers.

There is ice on the birds' water saucers in the mornings, but the sun has real warmth. I feel I should be out there.

Tane visits briefly - as though this isn't his territory anymore. Sometimes he seems to be with another robin, then I think they are confronting each other. I don't know. Apparently, robins have started nest building.

I try to think about the conference in Amsterdam (I'll present on badgers). It's written, but I need to make a slideshow. I try to think about the culture paper I have been asked to submit. I have started. It all feels... unreal.

The bright light outside, the low light inside.

And then, the darkness returns.
