My trees have been... dramatically cut back. Especially the rather sick lilac.
They look somewhat pathetic.
I feel sorry for them and know I can't expect much in the way of flowers this year. Sorry insects. I will plant some wildflowers which will have a chance given the extra light they'll get.
I was afraid that my visiting birds might be freaked out by the changed trees. But, since the operation I have seen the dunnocks, tits and blackbirds. As well as the pigeons and squirrels.
It was also traumatic for the cats who had to be shut upstairs while three men walked through the house carrying power tools one way and parts of tree the other.
And it was cold with the front and back doors open. I now feel rather chilled and pathetic. Perhaps I am feeling what the poor naked trees feel. Shocked to the core by the invasion.
