What trees give

I'd intended to have a good long chat with the Wayfarer Oak, but instead found myself obsessed by the sand martins (bank swallows to those of you in the Americas).
I did witness the funniest thing ever: a greylag swimming upside down, orange legs cycling in the air, while she flapped her wings underwater. At first I thought she was drowning, or drunk as a skunk, but no: she was bathing. Those paddling feet! So bright orange!
Away from the water, a wee yellowhammer.

I liked watching the bank swallows and their apartment building!
