Yes... it's her again....

...but a different picture. Really, I should add some variety to my offerings. Maybe a walrus or a chipmunk. A baobab tree or a gentian. Sadly, I'm not going anywhere or doing anything. And what's more: I don't want to.

Kind of decided not to go to Finland. The money, you know. Plus the next series of talks, after Attending to the More-Than-Human World, which is called Encounters with the Unseen, clashes with Finland.

In more adventurous news, I have submitted my excessively long paper on orcas to a journal. We shall see what comes of that. And, an even more unlikely thing, the idea of a paid trip to Toronto has again been mooted. Paid as in costs covered.

How I want to feel part of something... but as I have already missed two Finnish retreats, I must say that I don't feel part of that... Maybe I would if I went.

No final decision made.

I love this picture. She behaves like my original Mrs B. But I thought my original Mrs B had a yellow beak?? Just looked back in the photo archive, and yes, she did. Now the question is whether beaks revert to brown in winter? Nope. Once yellow, they stay yellow. In which case, there are no adult females around. Just two younger ones. More confusingly, some females' beaks remain quite dark. Mrs B's though was definitely yellow.
